KOSMOS SERVICE DESIGN
Kosmos Service Design accompanies organisations in further developing their range of services – whether in non-profit organisations, start-ups or international institutions. Be it conveying the image of renewable energies, overcoming silo thinking in the workplace, promoting creativity in everyday life or making hospital stays more pleasant for children. With my work, I want to make the world more understandable and friendly for customers.
WHY SERVICE DESIGN
In our everyday lives, we use numerous products and services that make our lives easier or more difficult. Making it more difficult because organisations often only supposedly know how customers use their services effectively. The world keeps turning and so do services. They are not set in stone.
Today, there are countless services and products that differ less and less from each other. Price, aesthetics and technical features alone are not sufficient differentiators for customers. Customer satisfaction and a positive experience of services are therefore all the more decisive. Because services are intangible, they must be all the more experienceable.

KOSMOS Service Design helps you to make your services and products attractive. To do this, the focus is on customers and employees. Expectations and potentials (insights) are determined leading to the creation of user-friendly offers and ideas that surprise your customers or even exceed their expectations.
How does that work? You are the experts. I accompany you. Service design is co-creation. Together we bring ideas and services to life. All workshops are geared to your needs and aim for a custom-fit solution. It doesn't always have to be done with a big spoon. Sometimes a pinch of salt helps.

SERVICE DESIGN MAKES THE DIFFERENCE – AN EXAMPLE
Two cafés offer identical coffee at the same price and are the same distance from you. Where do you buy your coffee? Definitely where you have a positive experience: beginning with the online appearance to the atmosphere that meets you when enter the café. Often these are not measurable factors, but they can be controlled.
With Service Design, café operators can find out through research which needs customers have before, during and after their visit to the café and gain new insights into their customers. In workshops with employees, coffee lovers, founders and other stakeholders, they then develop ideas, test concepts and create unique services. Service design has a direct impact on how popular the café is and what profits it makes.
ABOUT ME
I am Jörn Kohlschmidt, service designer and founder of Kosmos Service Design. Over ten years of experience in public management, communication and advertising have sharpened my eye for successful design in products and services. I have promoted ideas and innovation in many areas including national campaigns, strategies for the public and private sector. Service design is my home. So are my home towns of Berlin and Zurich and my potter's wheel.
